Willie and Maya planned a casual cocktail wedding reception with an elegant vibe at a coworking space! We loved their wedding vow promises and ring warming so much and feel like there is lots of inspiration for folks looking to write their own personal wedding vow promises.
My sister performed our ceremony. It was very special since it could be so personal. My brother held onto the freshly “warmed” rings until we were ready for them.
I really liked the idea of a ring warming, but I wanted a short ceremony so I didn’t want to do it during the ceremony. So there was a station for that near the guest book for people to casually come by and warm the rings at their leisure before the ceremony started.
Ring warming wording
The sign reads:
Ring Warming
Please take a moment to warm our rings with your love, blessings, and prayers. When we exchange these rings in our ceremony, they will carry not only the promises we make to each other, but also the love and uspport of all of you.
During our ceremony, here were our wedding vow promises…
Willies wedding vow promises:
So I thought about this a lot, and I wanted to make sure whatever I was promising, was vowing to do, resonated. Was real.
You know, ’cause lots of people have very lofty intentions in marriage. But sometimes it needs to be grounded in something real and tangible. And we’ve had the last 5 years to build that.
So I promise, to watch the same show with you, no matter how many times we watched it. 88, maybe 100. Because I love you, I love seeing you smile. I love being there to hear your stories, and see the expression on your face. Every time I spend with you is perfect.
I promise to stay up late, really late. Sometimes 2 in the morning and listen to you. And how your day went. The stories may be long but I love every one of them because I still like to know how you’re doing. I want to know you’re doing well. And I want to make sure you’re getting any of the love and support I can give you. For the challenging times and the great times and anything in between.
I promise to challenge you sometimes. And be open to being challenged. Because thats how we grow as people and grow in our relationship.
I promise to try even when its hard, or annoying, or even when I’m not that good at it. To show that I actually care. And I’m willing to spend time and invest in our relationship.
I promise to make you laugh or just make you look at me weird. I promise to try no matter what to bring joy to your life.
And I promise to let you pursue your dreams and aspirations. Because I love you for being you, what makes you unique.
And most of all, I promise to do all that with love. No matter how challenging it gets. No matter how hard the times are, I’ll make sure to do everything with love and let you shine in our relationship.
Maya’s wedding vow promises
Most people would not consider me to be a romantic person, I think you would be included among those people. But I actually do have a sense of romance.
I don’t consider it the big gestures to be romantic. I consider it to be the everyday things.
Some of the things you do for me like opening the door for me almost everyday when I get home so I don’t have to find my keys in my purse.
And never eating all the leftovers so there is always something for me to eat.
It might not be other people’s idea of romance, but I’m lucky to be able to live my favorite rom-com everyday.
The things I want to promise you is not going to me everyday will be a good day. But what I will promise you is that I will do the work with you.
That I will put our family first and that I will make both our family and our relationship a priority in my life.
And I promise to love you.
Officiant:
Kyle do you have the rings…They’re nice and warm. As we all know, rings have no end, which symbolizes the bond between you will never end.
As you place these rings, I want you to recognize them as a physical symbol of the vows you spoke today and the bond you have…
Then we’ll move on to jumping the broom. Jumping the broom symbolizes the sweeping away of the single life.
As their community and support system, I want us all to count to 3 and then they’ll jump the broom.
