A Spring Wedding With Blush Pink & Lots of Fun!

A Spring Wedding With Blush Pink & Lots of Fun!

Meet Laura and Carl, a beautiful couple who are celebrating 17 years of being together! They hosted a spring wedding, so we’re loving the colour palette of blush pink, cream and blue. Their wedding didn’t only look good, but they found tons of creative ways of injecting personality and fun into every aspect. From unconventional ceremony songs to secret singing waiters, their wedding was a hit with their guests!

Laura and Carl’s love story began when they were just 15 years old! They thought it was time to make things official, because later this year they are celebrating their 17th anniversary of being together.

Their proposal story is utterly perfect, lowkey and casual. Their second daughter was only a couple of weeks old and Laura was at home in her PJs, her hair up in a bun, while changing the baby. She turned around and Carl was down on one knee on the sitting room floor and he popped the question!

“Our wedding was on 2nd April which is also World Autism Awareness Day which holds a special place in our hearts. As it was a spring wedding I decided on nice blush pink tones for the bridesmaids and flower girl. The flowers were a mix of creams, blush pink and pale blues. Decorations around the rooms and cake stand etc also matched these colours of the bouquets.”

Laura’s beautiful dress was a champagne over ivory dress which she bought from Dreamy Curves Bridal in Bray. We love her Cobalt blue shoes too!

Carl matched Laura perfectly with his George Royal Blue suit, ivory tie and tan shoes from All Suits in Tallaght.

The beautiful bridesmaids wore blush pink Maya dresses from Pamela Scott. Their lovely flower girl wore a dress in the same blush pink shade from Next.

The boys all wore the same suit as Carl, with ties to match the bridesmaids.

Laura and Carl’s ceremony was intimate with just their nearest and dearest. To make it even more special they incorporated two unity ceremonies and all their favourite songs!

“We had a special intimate ceremony with our family and friends. I walked up the aisle to Dreams by The Cranberries performed by the fab Alfie’s Bandits. We chose to do the candle lighting ceremony just the two of us followed by a sand ceremony which got our two girls involved. It was a lovely touch and something nice to keep up in the house afterwards. We signed the register to Christy Moore’s The Voyage and bopped out to Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen!”

For their wedding venue, Laura and Carl chose Finnstown Castle Hotel in Lucan.

Here’s what they had to say about it: “It is such a lovely hotel and grounds and feels like you’re out in the countryside! All the staff were so lovely and helpful. The interior was just renovated and is gorgeous. The food was fabulous. We really loved that the grounds were so fab that we didn’t need to leave our venue to go get pictures taken somewhere else and could get back to our guests quicker! Has lovely gazebo and water fountain in front of the hotel for photo ops and multiple peacocks roaming around the grounds who were very friendly!”

They are absolutely delighted to have picked Sara from Mrs Mc Photography to capture their day! Her photos are incredible, but she was very supportive and patient on the day too.

“We are so happy we went with Sara for our wedding day. She is an absolutely lovely person and so friendly. She provided us with great tips and advice before the Big Day and listened and did everything we wanted. Sara went above and beyond and was so helpful on the morning on hand to help with anything that needed to be done. She was also so patient with the kids.”

Laura and Carl made sure their guests were thoroughly entertained! From little details like personalised blue bottle openers and sweets, to the selfie mirror and DJ. The highlight was the singing waiter.

“We decided to book Singers Secreto for our dinner entertainment and were so glad that we did! The singing waiter came out just as dessert was being served and fell in front of everyone, dropping a tray of cutlery! Everyone was shocked and hopped up to help, but then he got up and burst into song. All our guests absolutely loved it and it really got everyone going for the party after!”

They just loved that their wedding was so relaxed and stress-free, allowing them to enjoy every minute!

“After the last couple of years and everything going on we were just so happy to be able to gather with all our family and closest friends for the first time in a long time and celebrate and have a great time.”
